The European Championships are due to take place in the last 2 weeks of April and we are proud to announce that Huntingdon gymnasts Cameron MacKenzie and Sam Oldham have been selected as part of the Junior team with fellow gymnast Max Bennett as reserve. Daniel Keatings and Louis Smith have both been selected as part of the Senior team. The championships, being held in Birmingham this year, promises to be an extremely exciting event and we look forward to our boys performing to the best of their ability.  In preparation for the Euros, the Junior team competed in a 4 Way international last weekend in Ipswich. GB took the gold medal, with Switzerland taking silver and France taking bronze. Germany took the 4th place. Likewise, our seniors had their 3 Way international this weekend and GB also took the gold medal with Belarus taking the silver medal and Switzerland the bronze.

Our recreational programme has also seen some action: The end of last term saw the Annual Recreational competition being held over 2 days with entries from all our recreational classes – encompassing our 5 year olds through to our 14 year olds. On Thursday evening it was the turn for the boys to show their skills through the performance of their routines – and our congratulations to the overall Champion of the evening - David Ho. The Friday evening was split into 3 competitions – to accommodate all the girls – and the overall Champion for this category was Kimberly Robinson. A great time was had by all and thanks go to the many parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who supported the gymnasts with their encouragement and their cheers. Thanks must also go to our many volunteers who helped with selling of teas, coffees, cakes and raffle tickets. And special thanks to Gordon Baird whose company QAV (a company which provides production services for live events) kindly sponsored the medals and the certificates.
